BICYCLISTS HOLDING PEOPLE HOSTAGE ON THE
GREAT HIGHWAY, again
A group of bicyclists (members of SF Bicycle Coalition, KidSafeSF, and Great Highway Park) decided to once again hold thousands of people hostage on the Great Highway on October 21, 2021 -- see pictures below.
SFPD (Taraval and Richmond stations) has been notified by hundreds of residents regarding the issue however the only thing they can do is provide a police escort up and down the Great Highway. It's as if SFPD's hands are tied when it comes to properly enforcing the law -- most likely due to the leadership in San Francisco instructing them to handle this situation differently.

The District Supervisors, specifically Gordon Mar and Connie Chan, need to be held accountable for this behavior and they need to step up and prevent this from happening again -- stop deflecting to other city organizations/departments. This is their district and constituents requesting help -- they need to do the job we elected them to do.
This is the 6th time these bicyclists have pulled this stunt on the Great Highway and we've heard some very frustrating stories about how this has impacted so many lives.
Please take a few minutes to share how this has impacted you and those in your life. We will be passing this information onto the Mayor, District Supervisors, and city organizations. We hope that your stories can get them to change their minds and prevent these incidents from happening again in the future.
As always, thank you so much for your continued support.
